Excited, Excited, Excited!!!

Okay, so here is the thing. Tomorrow is 9/11 and the Pentagon is having their Sept 11 ceremony PLUS the dedication and big reveal of the memorial. HUGE HUGE HUGE event. Norman was able to score me a coveted ticket, which I am eternally grateful for, but this left the issue of what to do with the little ones. Weeeellllll...I could take them, but given the fact that seating starts at SIX AM..yep 6am, and the ceremony doesn't even start until 9'ish I think, that makes for a long, hot, boring event for them and a miserable child wrestling match for me. Soooooo I called Fort Myer Child Development Center and begged them and pleaded with them, and they made an exception and will watch them!!!! So drop off is at 6, then I will go directly to the Pentagon and have Norman escort me in and then pick-up is at 12:45.

Now, Norman has the super impressive job of the day. He is VIP seating guy for the important people like Gates, Chertoff, the VP and all the rest of 'em. What a JOB! I'm sending the camera with him, so he better take pics of the big dudes... I don't even care that I have to get up at 4:30 to get ready...I'm so excited!!!

BUT...all the excitement aside, please remember all of those who lost their lives, and who have suffered as a result of 9/11. Sara, I will be thinking of you and your precious sacrifice tomorrow, and Melisa, I will be thinking of you and the fact that Josh is deployed today as a result of this day. To all the rest of my active duty friends and spouses, I will be thinking of and praying for all of you tomorrow, and know that your service, sacrifice, and patriotism are heroic and greatly admired. I would have never been introduced to this life had it not been for my precious husband, and as hard as being a military wife is sometimes, I would not trade it for the world. How many girls get to marry their hero? I did, and he fights, as so many others do, to keep us free. God bless our troops. God bless our fallen heroes. God bless our military spouses. God bless our country.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

  1. Thank you so much for a beautiful post! Your sentiments are echoed here as well and my prayers will be with not only our brave men and women who are defending this great country but also with those who have made great sacrifices.

On a lighter note: do you think Norman could ask Gates for a loan on my behalf? : )
