First off, I have to say that the quality of these pictures is awful!! I knew what pic I wanted, but when I went to my album, I saw that I had taken it out at some point and never returned it. So all I had left was the Christmas Card, and I had to scan it in, so it is really grainy. Sorry...
But, the story behind it goes like this. This was one week after Norman and I got married, and we had been given a week up at Pagosa Springs, CO to go ski and relax after the wedding because Norman was deploying to Afghanistan two weeks later. We got to take a horse drawn sleigh ride, and I loved the picture so much it turned into our very first Christmas card, for the year of 2002. There are so many memories attached to this moment. For me, it was my "baptism by fire" so to speak for military life. There's nothing like saying "I do" and then preparing for your brand new hubby to leave you for the next 6 months. But this sleigh ride was perfect. Beautiful winter day, beautiful scenery...picture perfect...Here is the Christmas card...
And a little closer in...
And everybody sing - "Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,Ring-ting-tingling too. Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you..." :)
