This morning we decided we wanted to spend the day in Gettysburg, PA, so we got ready and hit the road! Luckily we are only about an hour and a half from there, so it was an easy drive, and we can’t wait to go back again…SOON! I have a ton of pics to post, so I’ll just explain the pics as I go along…
The boys dressed in these costumes for a photo with Abe Lincoln. The one with Lincoln in it is actually out in my car, but when I scan it in I’ll post it. I just snapped a few of them dressed up in front of the green screen.
This is a pic of the boys on a cannon on a battlefield…
There was a large reenactment camp with guys out cooking and doing the “normal” Civil War camp stuff.
The scenery is absolutely stunning…
And right across this fence is where Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address. Eli is in LOVE with Lincoln, and this made his entire day. He practically cried when we told him we didn’t know where he had stood exactly, because he wanted so badly to stand EXACTLY where he stood when he spoke.
Okay, that’s all for now. There are more, but I’m beat and the morning will come waaaaay too early for me. Ciao!
Girl, you are always doin' so much stuff all the time!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh look! It's Lincoln's face!!!
I went to Gettysburg once and LOVED it. I can't wait to get back either. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing the pics of Gettysburg and your boys!
Looks like a fun day! That is so great that Eli is so enthusiastic about Lincoln!
