Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Norman, Eli, Chase and I decided at the last minute to go to NYC to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and it was WONDERFUL!!!  Jordan (my brother) and Callie (his girlfriend) were able to miraculously find affordable plane tickets to come out and go with us, and that made the trip so very special.

I’m going to make our trip into a two part post because I have a lot of pictures I want to share.  The first day, obviously, we did the parade.  We showed up around 6:30’ish to claim our spot, and we were prepared to wait and keep the boys as patient as possible.  It is hard on the little ones, but they weren’t alone, and they found fun ways to pass the time. 

Callie helped them pass the time by playing this little basketball game they got in a Happy Meal…

  Then they found some friends who had some really neat electronic games…Do you notice how DARK it still is?  It was so early…and considering we got to bed at like 2am, we were still exhausted.

And then YAY! After nearly 3 hours of waiting in the cold…it began!

     And here we are for our Thanksgiving Dinner.  Which was weird…we either had burgers or popcorn shrimp.  Their holiday menu didn’t seem all that appetizing ;).  But we were together, and although we were more exhausted than I think we could ever express, we had a once in a lifetime experience and were so blessed to get to experience it together.
