Since this week, and especially this weekend, is the big Cherry Blossom Festival Celebration, I thought I would post a few pictures that I snapped of the beautiful trees today.
Chase and I left the house this morning to go play at the National Building Museum. We then ate lunch at the museum cafe and spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the beautiful weather and the gorgeous scenery. We took the metro up to the Navy Memorial/Archives, and from there we wandered through the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden, which is the world's largest sculpture garden, then down to the National Mall, and we wandered around admiring the beautiful trees and looking like goofy tourists. Here is a link to some information and more photos about the famous festival. http://www.dcphototour.com/CherryBlossom.shtml
Here are a few photos I snapped of Chase's and my beautiful day out :).

Wow! Very beautiful and what a great day! When we were living in NC we went up to DC a few times! I loved wandering around like that. So much to see and do! The Cherry Blossoms are the most beautiful tree in the world, I think. I hope you enjoy living there! I look forward to living in that area someday (in our 5 year outlook, hopefully!)too!
ReplyDeleteHey, I didn't know those could grow in America...they are from Japan...aren't they? Hmmm...yes i think I remember reading somewhere that America imported that from Japan...the Cherru blossoms...they are beautiful, aren't they? You must try The Body Shop's new body butter in cherry blossom! You will love it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping my my blog. I love the cherry blossoms, have never been to DC at this time of year. Going to Richmond, Va area in about a week, think we can see the blossoms there?
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda! This is an awesome place to live; you guys would LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteCharity - I've got it and I LOVE it!!! :) It smells soooo divine!!
Kristin, you should be able to see them there too! I did some searching online and couldn't find any specific places to go to find them, but kind of like here in DC, I think they're just spread all over. Take some pics of what you find while you are there! Have fun!
